I don’t think there will be anyone who visits Kerala & doesn’t take a tour of the world famous Backwaters. Kerala Backwaters attracts Tourists not only from India but all over the world. You can either stay in the houseboat or hire a boat for few hours to explore a part of the Backwaters. We had hired a boat for 2 hours which costed us Rs.800/- for 3 people. We had hired the boat in Alleppey or Alappuzha as it known by both the names.
The entire boat trip in Alleppey/Alappuzha backwaters was nothing short of magical. The Backwaters are known as the “Venice of the East” since you have no other means of transport to travel from one village/town to another village/town other than the boats.
Do not mind anything that anyone tells you about anyone else.
